Obituary for Margaret Adamik (Hinchcliffe)

Margaret (Peg) Hinchcliffe Adamik of Thornwood NY passed away peacefully on March 6, 2015. Peg was born in Yonkers, NY on April 9, 1925 to Ellis Hinchcliffe and Margaret Hughes. She is survived by her beloved husband George F. Adamik whom she married at Sacred Heart Church, Yonkers, NY on May 1, 1949. She is survived by her sons The Rev. George Adamik and wife Mary Adamik of Apex, North Carolina along with granddaughters Elizabeth Adamik Gallagher and husband Danny Gallagher of Hamden, Ct., and Rebecca Adamik of Apex, NC, and son Brian Adamik and Susan Arcuri of Bedford, Massachusetts along with grandsons Christopher Adamik and Michael Adamik of Bedford, MA. Peg is predeceased by daughter Joanne Adamik, who passed away in 1957, and brothers Ellis Hinchcliffe, Joseph Hinchcliffe and “Junior” Hinchcliffe.
Besides her wisdom, care and love for her family, she enjoyed volunteering her time in the community in both church, and hospital work.
Visitation will be at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home Inc., Pleasantville, NY on Monday, March, 9, 2015 from 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Peg’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at 10 AM at Holy Innocents Church located at 431 Bedford Rd., Pleasantville, NY. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
