Obituary for Ann C. Munier (Curry)

Ann C. Munier (Curry)
Ann Curry Munier died at Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care, Croton-on-Hudson, NY, on September 2, surrounded by love. She was 90.
Elizabeth Ann Curry was born on December 23, 1924 in White Plains, NY. She was the daughter of Archibald Chichester and Lee Coles Curry and sister of Janet Chichester Curry. She attended White Plains High School and Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont, graduating in 1948 with a bachelor of arts degree. She married the love of her life, the late Emile “Milo” H. Munier II on September 18, 1948 and moved to Briarcliff Manor, NY, where they raised three children, Janet Lee, Robert Stephen Curry and Emile Henri III. Ann and Milo retired to Heritage Hills, Somers, NY, in 1993. Milo died on April 13, 2010; he and Ann had been married 61 years.
During their years in Briarcliff Manor, Ann and Milo were very involved in town life and were especially active members of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club and the Briarcliff Congregational Church. Ann taught Sunday school and could always be relied on to organize the annual church rummage sale. In Somers, Ann and Milo were members of the Croton Falls Community Church and enjoyed many friendships at Heritage Hills. Ann was also active in PEO, the philanthropic educational organization which helps women pursue higher education.
Ann loved New England and in recent years she and Milo spent half their time in Gilford, NH. They welcomed their children and grandchildren every summer to their cottage at Governors Island on Lake Winnipesaukee, where fishing, tennis, hiking, waterskiing, sailing and many games were enjoyed by all. Winters were spent at Stratton, Vermont, where the family loved winter sports, especially skiing. Both Stratton and “The Lake” were the scenes of many happy family gatherings and great memories for every generation.
Ann is survived by her three children, Janet Munier Barton (Sandy) of Cold Spring, NY, Robert Stephen Curry Munier (Jan) of Falmouth, MA, and Emile Henri Munier III (MaryBeth) of Pleasantville, NY; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She will forever be in their hearts and memories.
A memorial gathering will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home Pleasantville, NY, on Thursday, September 10, with visitation beginning at 4 pm and a service at 6 pm. A private ceremony will be held at Kensico Cemetery for internment of the ashes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Croton Falls Community Church, 628 Route 22, Croton Falls, NY, 10519; Briarcliff Congregational Church, South State Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY, 10510; Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Rd, Gilford, NH, 03249; Janet C.
