Obituary for Betty Lari Martineau (Lari)


Betty Lari Martineau, a longtime resident of Armonk, New York, passed away Saturday November 21st, 2015 after a long courageous battle against multiple complex medical issues.
Betty is survived by her husband Paul and daughters Jacqueline, Donna and Nicole, their respective spouses and three grandchildren, Drew, Alina and Miles.
She was born on June 11th, 1938 in Yonkers, New York and resided with her parents in the Bronx during her elementary and high school years. She later moved to Yonkers with them and attended The College of New Rochelle from which she graduated in 1957. In 1959, Betty and Paul were married and they have resided in Westchester County for over 50 years.
During her lifetime Betty was involved in many business ventures including the ownership of a boutique book store (Book Bin) in Armonk, New York.
In later years, she was a well-respected realtor in the Armonk-Bedford area and was engaged in the real estate development field. Betty has been a member of the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, New York for forty-two years where she enjoyed the company of many good friends and was an avid tennis player during her younger years.
Among her personal interests, Betty was a voracious reader and always had two or three books going at all times. Additionally, she was an excellent crossword puzzle enthusiast and did not miss a day of participating in one of her favorite pastimes until her illness prevented her from doing so over the past two years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at the Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, New York from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint Patrick’s Church in Bedford Village, New York. The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s name to the American Heart Association.
