Obituary for John Robert "Jack" Gullotta Jr.

John Robert "Jack" Gullotta Jr.
John Robert Gullotta, Jr.

Saturday April 30th, we said goodbye to Jack, one of the toughest, most loyal, tenacious, kind-hearted, hard working, salt-of-the-earth human beings this world has known. As he left us at sunrise, we can only assume that he was going out to check his lobster traps, maybe do a little fishing off Jeremy Point in Wellfleet, and then a stop at the shooting range before checking in with his eight grandsons.
Jack was born in White Plains, January 3, 1944 to John Robert and Ethel (Stelz) Gullotta. He was a lifelong resident of Pleasantville, graduating from Pleasantville High School in 1962. He worked as brick-layer, before working for the Village of Pleasantville for over 35 years. As an avid sportsman, he was a member of Cape Cod Fish and Game Association, a lifelong member of the Mount Pleasant Sportsman Club, and an endowment member of the National Rifle Association. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Susan, his four children Amy (Kevin) Brown, Carolyn (Michael) Shilinski, Susie (Jim) McCarthy, and John Robert (Nicole) Gullotta III, and his eight grandsons Kieran and Thomas Brown, Andrew and Ethan Shilinski, Colin and William McCarthy, and John Robert IV and Benjamin Gullotta; his sister Susan Pearson and niece Lori (Phil) Dinkler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasantville Ambulance Corp or Pleasantville PBA.
Memorial visitation will be Wednesday 3-6PM at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc. Pleasantville, New York where his funeral service will take place during visitation at 5PM.
