Obituary for Giovanni Petriccione

Giovanni (John) Petriccione of Pleasantville, NY passed away at the age of 64. He is survived by his loving wife Angela and his three brothers, Pasquale, Vincenzo and Claudio and his three sisters, Angela, Florence and Rosanna. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews locally and throughout the U.S.
Giovanni was born in Capua, Italy to Crescenzo and Anna Petriccione on January 12, 1952. He spent his formative years in Capua then his family moved to White Plains, NY where he attended White Plains High School graduating in 1971. Following graduation, he entered the plumbers union and worked for Local 21 Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union. After sixteen years, he joined the faculty of Mount Vernon High School as teacher of plumbing and HVAC. During his tenure he earned his B.S. in education from New York City Technical College. In 2008 he joined the faculty of Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES where he taught plumbing and welding until he retired in June of 2016. There were many student success stories that can be attributed to his devotion and dedication to his profession.
He and his wife Angela cherished their time together, traveling and visiting friends and family. His passions were golf and wine making, which often included his brothers, brother-in-laws and nephews. His vast repertoire of country and Neopolitan songs was legendary.
His faith in God was reflected in his generosity and his willingness to help anyone in need. Giovanni was an individual who never had a disparaging word about anyone. His resonant laughter was infectious. Above all Giovanni’s love and devotion to his wife and family was unsurpassed. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Monday 3:30pm – 8:00pm at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday at 10:00am at Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville, NY. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
