Obituary for Anthony C. San Marco

Anthony “Tony” Charles SanMarco, a longtime resident of Hawthorne, passed away peacefully on April 22 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85. Tony was born on February 18, 1932 in New York City to Salvatore and Gertrude SanMarco. Tony grew up in New York City before meeting the love of his life, Vivian, and moving to Hawthorne. Tony is survived by his three children, Lorene Mettler, Anthony SanMarco, and Debra Mancusi, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was a retired truck driver, an armored car driver for Brinks security, a private chauffer and an auxiliary Police Officer for the town of Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Vivian to their condo in Florida as well as taking many cruises. Tony also enjoyed watching classic movies as well as drinking an occasional scotch on the rocks. Tony took pride in his cars and loved taking his family for rides into the city or casino. Although Tony had a tough exterior, underneath everyone knew he would do anything for his family and friends. Tony loved nothing more than spending time with his wife Vivian, be it going out to dinner or to dance. He will now be able to spend eternity with her in heaven. Forever in our hearts we love you.
