Dorothea Margret Salzarulo (nee Droege) of Somers, New York, formerly a long time Pleasantville resident, passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday September 23, 2018.
Dotty was the beloved wife of 60 years to Peter N. Salzarulo of Somers, N.Y. Loving mother to her two sons Nicholas and Peter Salzarulo and daughter Doreen Salzarulo Nastasio. Dearest Grandmother of Peter, Noelle, and Nicholas Salzarulo Jr. , and Blaise and Rylie Nastasio.
Dotty is predeceased by her parents Otto and Herta Droege and her sister Marilyn Zimmer.
Born March 15, 1938 in the Bronx N.Y. She graduated from William Howard Taft high school and worked in administration for various businesses before moving to Pleasantville, N.Y. to raise her family. During the balance of her professional life she worked at Readers Digest and Christian Herald, Bowery Mission in Chappaqua, N.Y.
She was always viewed by her family as a problem solver with an innate sense of curiosity. She loved cooking, gardening, and decorating her home for her family. She was extremely devoted to her treasured family.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4-7 pm at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Pleasantville, N.Y.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 am at Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville, N.Y. Interment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, NY.
