Carol A. Johnson, of Valhalla, NY, left this earthly life on Monday, February 3, 2014. She was born on June 8, 1938 in Bronx, NY. Carol is survived by George V. Johnson, her loving husband of 55 years and two daughters; Karen (Gerard) Falco of Valhalla, NY and Marianne (Richard) Stickles of Westford, MA as well as four cherished grandchildren; Michael Falco, Christian Falco, Samantha Stickles and Kevin Stickles and her brother Gerhard Wellmann of Mt Lakes, NJ. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Anna (Kastning) Wellmann and her younger brother Robert Wellmann.

Carol was an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasantville, NY, serving as a Sunday School teacher, member of church council, representative for Thrivent and held various other positions. Carol was a member of the Valhalla PTA and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was also a member of the Pleasantville Garden Club.
As a transplant recipient, Carol served on the board of the Transplant Support Organization and was the editor of the TSO newsletter.

The family maintained a home on Cape Cod where Carol loved gardening, long walks on the beaches and was active with Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod. Family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren who loved their “Oma” as much as she loved them.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7th, from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville, NY. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8th, at 12 noon at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasantville, NY.
