Sister Mary Albert Walsh, OP (Gail A. Walsh) died on January 5, 2016 at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, NY after an extended illness.

She was born July 27, 1933 in New Haven, CT. She was the daughter of Walter T. Walsh and Alice (Linden) Walsh. She is pre-deceased by her parents and also her brother Walter who died in February 2009.

She is survived by a sister –in-law, Joan Walsh and a niece Heather Walsh (Michael DeLucia) from Brookline, MA, three nephews Thomas Walsh, Waterbury ,CT, Brian Walsh, Branford, CT and Patrick Walsh, North Haven, CT. She also has a great-niece, Alice DeLucia and a great nephew William DeLucia.

Sister entered the Community on December 8, 1957 and made her Profession of Vows, on September 14, 1959. Sister graduated from Grace-New Haven Hospital School of Nursing as an RN prior to her entrance into our Community.

Sister Mary Albert served at all of our seven Homes. She served as the Director of Nursing in Our Lady of Good Counsel Home, St. Paul, MN and Holy Family Home, Cleveland, OH.

A wake will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Rosary Hill Home from 3:30pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 10:30am in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary at Rosary Hill Home followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
