Thomas J. Hart, 61, of Pleasantville, N.Y., died on Sunday, July 9, 2017 after a lengthy illness. After graduating from Pleasantville High School in 1973, Tom worked at Berger’s Hardware in Hawthorne and Connelly’s Bar in Pleasantville, as well as a number of area delis and pubs. In the past five years, he was an active member of the United Methodist Church, braving the weather every December to lend a hand at their annual Christmas Tree Sale. He was a volunteer at the Interfaith Food Pantry for as many years. Tom walked everywhere in Pleasantville, with a kind word for all. He was a gentle soul. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas A. Hart, and leaves behind his grieving mother, Joann Hart of Beverly, Ma. He will be greatly missed by his aunt, Virginia Connelly of Pleasantville, his sisters JoeAnn Hart of Gloucester, Ma. and Patricia Hart of Westport, CT, and his brother Matthew Hart of Scarsdale, N.Y. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Pleasantville.
