Obituary for Louise Gabrielly (Orlando)

Louise Gabrielly (Orlando)
Louise Gabrielly, 91, passed peacefully yesterday, surrounded by the love of her 3 children, September 18, 2017. She was born in Pittston, PA on February 26, 1926 to Anthony and Mary Orlando. She came to New York in May of 1935. Louise lived in White Plains, Silver Lake, Long Island and finally settled in Valhalla for the last 60 years. She married Vince Gabrielly who predeceased her after 35 years of marriage. She is survived by her Sister Mary Rappa, 3 children, Vince Gabrielly, Joyce (David) Greene, Rick (Carol) Gabrielly; 4 Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Brad) Young, Amy (Jeff) Abate, Alex and Max; as well as 5 Great-grandchildren: Shelby, Woods, Ashlyn, Jeffrey and Ethan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louise adored her cats, Vinny and Louie and she'll be happy to be reunited with Vinny, her favorite kitty. Louise and her family wish to extend a special debt of gratitude to her loving and outstanding caregivers: Cathy, Nadia, Kate, Martine, and Jean.
Louise’s optimism and sense of humor was her greatest gift, and she shared her generosity with everyone she touched. Devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and most of all friend, she gave her all to every person she knew, especially those in need. As a volunteer in her Church, Community and Schools, Louise was always there to support the people she loved. She prided herself as a 50+ year member of The Rosary Altar Society at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, NY, and enjoyed life as an award-winning Avon Representative also for over 50 years. Later in her life, she loved ballroom dancing, where she found joy and hope after her husband’s passing. Louise made joy and found happiness in all people and places she knew. She was and will always be a shining example of what we can all do with our lives, coming from humble beginnings and leaving the world a much richer place because we were in it. Louise goes blissfully to her beloved father in heaven having done his work in the service of others. May God Bless her and hold her forever.
Visitation Services for Louise will be held Thursday September 21, 2017 from 5:00pm till 9:00pm at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, NY 10570, 914.769.0001. Her funeral procession will leave Beecher Flooks at 9:30am Friday morning September 22, and her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am at Holy Name of Jesus R.C. Church, 2 Broadway, Valhalla, NY 10595. Burial following Funeral Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 575 Hillside Avenue, White Plains, NY 10603.
