Obituary for Dr. Donald J. Kilgus

Dr. Donald James Kilgus, 94, of Carmel (formerly Valhalla) passed away on January 17, 2018.
He was born on July 28, 1923 in Crawfordsville, Iowa. He was a graduate of Lafayette College and The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He served as a dentist in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II before establishing his dental practice in Valhalla, New York. His lifelong hobby was building and flying remote controlled airplanes and he was an active member of the Westchester Radio Aero Modelers club.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Janet Cook Kilgus and their son, Douglas, and his second wife, Elma Boos Kilgus.
He is survived by his brother, David Kilgus, and his children, Donald Scott Kilgus (Leslie); Timothy Kilgus; David Kilgus (Carolyn) and Amy Kilgus.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, George Boos; Roy Boos; Dorothy Carroll and Edward Boos.
He was the proud grandfather of fourteen grandchildren: James, Graham, Britta (Scott), Kathryn, Leigh (David), Nicole, Krissy (George), John, Taylor (Roy), Corey, Rian, Bobby (Dorothy) Matthew and Lilly (Edward).
