Condolence From: Hayden
Condolence: I just today, 2 March, learned of Fr. Bob's return to Our Lord. It was very sad news for me. When I moved to NYC to work for the Catholic Near East Welfare Association, Fr. Bob welcomed me into his rectory (when he was in Staten Island). It was a joy to know him and be be a recipient of his unconditional support and encouragement. He was a good man, a cherished brother, and an exceptional priest. May he rest in peace. Know of my prayers for him and those who loved him.

Condolence: We are very saddened by Father Aufieri’s sudden departure. He was an integral part of our lives in New York, and even when we moved to Canada, we were able to keep in touch. His sense of humor, his humanity and his ability to connect with people of all ages was truly special. We will miss him greatly. May he Rest In Peace.

Condolence: We are so saddened at the sudden passing of Father Bob. We have known him for almost 40 years when he was in St Lawrence O'Toole in Brewster and have been close ever since. He was there for my family when my dad passed suddenly at a young age and has been a spiritual guiding force for me, my mom and my family. Father Bob married me and my husband, baptized both my children, has always kept us in our prayers, especially during difficult times when he is among the first I call. We had hoped he would marry our son and future daughter-in-law this August...but we know he will be watching over everyone from Heaven. He was a very special person and friend and will be missed so much by so many. May Father Bob rest in eternal peace. With our deepest condolences to his family. Sincerely, Monica and Bob DelBello

Condolence: When I heard of the sudden death of dear Father Aufieri’ I was shocked. I met Father when he was at St Margaret of Cortona in Riverdale, NY. I was a parishioner and sought his counsel regarding the priesthood (was in my 30’s) and he supported and guided me, however, I was fearful. I felt I failed God’s call and Father’s faith in me. He once again was comforting and did not think less of me. I kept in touch with him and he would respond back he is praying for me. Though I never thought about it, he was my Spiritual Director and I was honored to know him. Rest In Peace, my friend!?

Condolence: Father Aufieri was by far the priest who brought my husband and I to church when he was at St. John the Evangelist in Manhattan. His welcoming manner, his intelligent sermons and his love of God was palpable. We so missed him when he moved to Staten Island. I was shocked to read of his passing today. May he Rest In Peace knowing how successful he was in bringing the word of God to so many. My condolences to his family.

Condolence: Our condolences to the Aufieri family. Father Aufieri was a kind and generous man. He embraced our family and was incredibly warm to our 3 sons. He shared his faith and his down to earth manner made him easily approachable. Even though he left our parish years ago, we stayed in touch and he always wanted to know how our boys were doing. Father - you will forever be in our hearts. With much love and respect.
