The music department at John Jay College opened its doors to manay students. From jazz to rock, to choral music and blues, and especially to those teachers who possessed a love of the many backgrounds each would teach.

When I first met Prof. Kennedy, i encounted a person with warmth and a love of music. His smile captured not only me, but also the students.

He possessed a sense of humour and other faculty members were taken by his lightness.

Students would gather to enroll in his classes.

Recently, I learned of his passing, I was very sorry to hear that he would no longer be here.

His memory and love of music would continue and I am fortunate to have beeen part of the music dept. at John Jay College.
