Joseph D. Dooley Sr., a lifelong resident of Pleasantville, NY died November 29, 2018. Born on May 8, 1926, he was son of the late Thomas and Jeanette Dooley. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Carroll Dooley, nee Costanzo. A graduate of Pleasantville High School, Joe voluntarily enlisted in the Navy, causing him to miss his own graduation ceremony. Joe proudly served two tours of active service in the United States Navy, 1944-46 and 1950-52. Joe retired from the United States Postal Service after 38 years of service, most recently serving as the Superintendent of Postal Operations in Pleasantville, NY. Joe is survived by his daughter Barbara (Greg Hurd) of Manhasset, NY and his two sons Joseph Jr. (Helene Murtha) of Eastchester, NY and Dennis of Pleasantville, NY. One of Joe’s most cherished roles was that of grandfather and leaves behind his four grandchildren Matthew and Christopher Hurd and Brian and Caroline Dooley.

Visitation will take place on Sunday December 2, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, NY.
