Joan Flynn Carroll, age 93 passed away on December 28, 2018. She was born on November 3, 1925 in Yonkers, New York to John J. Flynn and Catherine Meehan Flynn. After attending Blessed Sacrament High School in Yonkers and then Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York, she began her career working for the Postmaster of Yonkers before going to work for the family business, The Flynn Memorial Home, Yonkers, NY.
On April 7, 1951 she married William L. Carroll at St. Peter’s Church, Yonkers, NY. They were married 62 years before William predeceased her in 2013. In 1955 they moved to Pleasantville, NY where they lived for over thirty years and raised their 10 children. Thereafter they moved to Bedford Hills, NY where they lived for over 20 years.
Joan is survived by her children, Joanne (Martin) Homlish, Pleasantville, NY; William (Theresa) Carroll, South Salem, NY; Nancy (Doug) Crossett, Katonah, NY; Jack Carroll, Bedford Hills, NY; Catherine (Nate) Smith, Wesport, CT; Gigi (John) Conlon, Danbury, CT; Patricia (Mike)Drury, Eugene, OR; Alice (Terry) Morris, Newtonville, MA; Judy (Richard) O’Connor, Lynnfield, MA; and Liz (Tom) Moriarty, Mahopac, NY. She was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, James E. Flynn, Wilmington, NC. She was predeceased by her sister Claire Condon and three brothers, John, William and Robert Flynn.
Joan was a long-time parishioner of Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville, NY where she served for many years as a member of the Rosary Alter Society, was a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. For over 30 years she was a member of the Coveleigh Club, Rye, NY where she enjoyed many hours on the bowling green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5th at 11am at Holy Innocents Church, 431 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, NY.
Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, also in Pleasantville, NY.
