Paul Andrew Stanton, 59, passed away March 9, 2019 in West Sacramento, CA. Born on December 5, 1959, to Francis X and Barbara Stanton, Paul grew up in Valhalla and Chappaqua, NY along with his four brothers. He graduated from Horace Greeley High School in 1977 and went on to graduate with a B.A. in English from Hobart College in 1982 and then received a M.A. in Communications from Boston University. Paul had a passion for all sports, particularly basketball where he made his college team as a walk-on. Later in life he became a certified ski instructor at Alpine Meadows ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA. His personality and friendliness made him popular among various social groups in high school, college and his career.
Paul’s career started at Foote, Cone & Belding ad agency and spanned across several other high profile firms including Golf Digest, Mecklermedia Corp, Gartner Group, and Reader’s Digest. Along the way he attained several high ranking positions including Publisher of Internet Shopper Magazine, Vice President of Marketing and, while at Gartner, Paul won the President’s Award for doubling the attendance of the company’s flagship trade show conference.
Paul is survived by his father, Frank Stanton, brothers Skip Stanton, Mark Stanton (Ann), Brian Stanton (Nicole), former wife, Deborah Stanton, and daughter, Kaitlin Stanton, and 8 nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville on Sunday, April 7 from 4-6PM for visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Monday, April 8 at 9:30AM with the interment immediately following.
