Obituary for Rosemarie Bartzick

Rosemarie Bartzick, of Ossining, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, April 16, 2019, surrounded by loving family at the age of 81.
Rosemarie was born June 6, 1937, in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Charles Bittlingmaier and Rosa E. Hummel and sister of Charlotte Staats (Otto).
She is survived by her longtime companion, Guiseppe (Joseph) Gentile, her three children; Rosemarie Slachta (Bartzick) of Naples, Florida, Albert Bartzick and his wife Diane (Smith) Bartzick of Big Sky, Montana, and Richard Bartzick (Debra Cretara) of Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
Rosemarie, lovingly known as Oma, is also survived by her seven cherished grandchildren; Billy, Stacy, Daniel, Rachael, Stephanie, Kimberly and Jessica.
Dedicated to her German heritage she was an active member of the Ossining German American Club and German American Society of Westchester where she served as President for 19 years. She also served as Divisional Marshal of the Stueben German Day parade. Rosemarie was a longtime member and active parishioner of Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Pleasantville, NY.
Earlier in life, Rosemarie spent many years working at Reader’s Digest in Chappaqua, NY. She was also a member of the Briarcliff Garden Club and was an avid and experienced gardener.
Visiting hours will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Rd, in Pleasantville, NY on Friday, April 19th from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Rosemarie’s Life at the Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 197 Manville Rd, Pleasantville, NY on Saturday morning, April 20th at 10am with a burial to follow at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Ave, in Valhalla, NY.
