Obituary for Daniel Peter Flood

Daniel Peter Flood, 79 passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the last of nine children born on February 12, 1940 in Yonkers. NY to John Patrick and Florence (Brinkert) Flood.

Daniel grew up in Yonkers, NY and attended Yonker's schools. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the military, Daniel worked in the insurance and financial planning for over 40 years, founding his own financial services business, "C&H Financial Services" in 1990.

Daniel met and married Roseann (Lotito) Flood on May 2, 1965; they were happily married for over 53 years. They settled in Pleasantville, NY where they raised their four children.

Daniel was always an avid golfer and enjoyed serving the Pleasantville community over the years, volunteering as the head Cub Master for the Boy Scouts of America. During the last 10 years, Daniel was an active advocate for altruistic kidney donation after receiving a kidney through his daughters nonprofit kidney foundation, Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation. Daniel voluntarily spoke with countless kidney patients and donors reassuring many that kidney transplantation had worked well for him and his donor. He inspired many to donate and comforted many, including the 14 matches(his included) made through the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation.

Daniel is survived by his spouse, Roseann; his 4 children and 5 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Daniel Peter Flood to Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation http://www.floodsisterskidneyfnd.org to further the organization's mission in transplanting more people in need as well as educating the community on living kidney donor awareness.
