G. Frank Shofner
Frank Shofner was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to G. Frank and Annie Leah Shofner on April 2, 1930. He died in Mt. Kisco, New York on April 29, 2019. Frank attended Texas A&M University and was graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He then enlisted for the Korean War, becoming a First Lieutenant. Upon his return from Korea, Frank received a law degree from the University of Texas. He then obtained what today would be an MBA from the American Institute of Foreign Trade (now known as from the Thunderbird School of Global Management) in Arizona, where he was recruited by the First National City Bank of New York, N.A., later known as Citibank, N.A.. He was a vice president of Citibank, N.A., at the time he retired in 1989. Frank spent much of his life travelling and living abroad, although he ultimately lived the longest in Chappaqua, New York. He was an accomplished woodworker, an avid landscaper, and an animal lover. He is survived by his wife of more than 36 years, Alice F. Shofner, his daughters Karen B. Lemieux and Elizabeth H. Shofner, Alice’s children David Crowley, Beth Lewis, and Kathryn Whitman, and grandchildren Alyson Murtha, Evan Lewis, Madeline Crowley, Kathleen Crowley, and Selena Crowley. A memorial service will be held for Frank at the Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville, New York between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th.
