He began his career with the New York City Police Department in 1967 where he was a patrolman and member of the Special Events Squad. After four years with the NYPD, he transferred to the Town of Bedford Police Department where he served for 34 years. He was an adoring grandpa/pop-pop to Olivia and Liam Jones, and Charlotte and Genevieve Fischer. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth, David and Raymond Jones and many nieces and nephews. I always relied on Bill when I was pastor at Holy Innocents when I had funerals at Beecher-Flooks. I am very sad to learn that he has left us. I know that the Lord will take good care of him for all his service and care for so many grieving families over the years. My sincerest condolences to his family. He will be missed by so many.
