Obituary for Donald A. Tocci

Donald Tocci, 79, passed away peacefully on March 4 in Thornwood, NY. Born on May 18, 1934 in Valhalla, NY, he was the son of Christine and Frank Tocci. He was a beloved brother of Doug, Diane (Cuatt) and Larry Tocci. Donald found his true love in Barbara Gullotta, and was married on October 10, 1964. In a true partnership lasting nearly 50 years, Barbara and Donald had two daughters, Lara and Heather. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tocci, and daughters Lara (Patrick) Kelly and Heather (David) Stemkowski and two grandchildren, Sophie and Reid. After graduating Pleasantville High School, Donald served in the US Army in Germany. Upon returning home, he worked as a painting contractor. His passions included playing baseball well into his fifties, rooting for his favorite teams the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, gambling at any casino, and doting on his two grandchildren. His family sustained his passion for life. He was an anchor and role model for his extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home on Friday, March 7 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Innocents Church on Saturday, March 8 at 10 am. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to: Rosary Hill Home, Pleasantville Ambulance Corp and/or Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester.
