Obituary for Charles Antonaccio

Charles Antonaccio, of Chappaqua, passed away on May 17, 2014, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Therese. Loving father of Carla and Maria Antonaccio. Predeceased by Angela (nee Milano) Antonaccio. Devoted brother to the late Mario and Michelangelo (Mike) and late sister Essuida. Revered and cherished by all in his extended family, and esteemed by his many co-workers and friends.
Born in Italy in 1921, Charles came to this country in 1931 and graduated from Purdue University in 1943. After serving in the Pacific during the Second World War, he returned home from Tokyo in 1946, and began work for New York Telephone in 1947 as a lineman in the management trainee program. He retired thirty-nine years later as an Assistant Vice President and Director of labor relations for Verizon in New York.
Charles was a devoted husband and father, uncle, and brother, who always put his family first. He was a model of integrity, known by all for his good judgment, even temper, and generosity. Intellectually curious, he deeply believed in the value of education and supported his daughters in everything they undertook.
Working in the garden and the annual wine production were natural extensions of the traditions that defined his life and values.

Calling hours will be at BEECHER FLOOKS FUNERAL HOME, Pleasantville, NY, Wednesday, May 21, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thurs., May 22, at 10 am, at Saints John and Mary Upper Church, 30 Poillon St., Chappaqua, NY.
