Obituary for Robert J Goldhorn

Robert J. Goldhorn of Yorktown Heights, NY died June 18, 2014. He was 78. Born in Yonkers, NY on August 13, 1935, the son of John H. and Elsie C. Goldhorn. Bob moved to Yorktown when he was eight and graduated Yorktown High School in 1955. He retired from New York Telephone in 1989 after 34 years. He served in the NY Air National Guard for 8 years at Westchester County Airport. Bob was Life Member of Yorktown Heights Engine Co., #1, joining the fire department when he was 16. He had served as Ladder Captain, and in recent years was of member of Fire Police.
On August 31, 1958 he married Beverly J. George in Mahopac Falls, NY. Bob enjoyed hunting, and collecting and restoring John Deere farm tractors.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of Yorktown Heights, two sons, Jeffrey S. (Deborah) Goldhorn of Pleasantville, NY and Gregory G. (Elizabeth) Goldhorn of Holmes, NY, 3 grandchildren Alexandra, John & Samantha, and his brother Gary J. (Norma) Goldhorn of Mooresville, NC.
Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville, NY where funeral services will be held Monday 10am. Burial following at Amawalk Hill Cemetery, Yorktown Hgts, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to Yorktown Heights Engine Co., #1, Fireman’s Benevolent Association, P.O. Box 13, Yorktown Hgts, NY 10598 would be appreciated.
