A generous and kind Man

I knew Lenny when I was in high school. I wasn't a swimmer or even athletic, but he treated me as if I were important. I have many fond memories of him. He was generous and had a kind spirit. He was a good friend, a big brother. He got me a summer job at the Bayside Yacht Club. I had to make sure those entering the pool were indeed members. It was an easy job and he paid me in cash. It occurred to me much later that this was probably his own money since I never got a pay stub. He gave me a bronze pin in the shape of a bug. He proudly said that his father designed it. I still have that pin! We lost touch as friends sometimes do. I'll always remember how his kindness impacted my life. I know I'm not the only one. Lenny had a way of giving of himself that surely left a positive impression on the scores of people he connected with throughout his lifetime. He has no doubt, left the world a better place. My deepest sympathy to his family . Paula Tendy D'Elia
