The priest who married us in 1982

Iam so sorry to learn of Rev Fr. Robert Aufieri passing. He married John and I on June 19, 1982 at St. Benedict in the Bronx. We had the most beautiful service beyond my imagination. The flowers were so exquisite as they adorned the church and altar. The music was exceptional, my heart melted as the singers began to mouth out  the words of Prehaps Love.  I thought for a moment that we had contracted John Denver and Palacio Domingo because they sang perfectly. We were Fr.Aufieri last wedding officiated in St. Benedict's.  Sunday happen to be Fathers Day. So I thank God for Our wedding and the priest who married us. It was so beautiful.
I got in touch with Fr. Bob many years later and he even sent me tickets to attend the Columbus Day celebrated Mass, which I surely attended and got to see him. My husband and I have remained married 41 years and two sons John and Matthew.  If that is a testament to a good priest; I don't know what is.He even send us a Anniversary card blessing our marriage. I recently looked at it and decided to look him up to send a Christmas card. But I guess God had other plans. Instead, I will pray for the repose of his soul in God's loving arms and the perpetual light to shine upon him. Amen
