1000 Welcomes...

Marrying into a big family, when you come from a small one, has the potential to be overwhelming. Uncle Jimmy made me feel welcome the very first day we met! I wasn't special, he had a gift of making everyone feel that way. He assured me that I would fit right in and that everyone was much less intimidating than they came across. He had a calm, reassuring nature. He was an exemplary salesman and loved " the art of the deal". He prized himself on negotiating for what was right and fair, no matter how much time and effort it required on his part. I think he secretly enjoyed the 'sport' of getting exactly what he was entitled to and generously shared this wisdom and expertise with others. He talked about "everyone's time to go" being written in the big book. He was matter of fact and unafraid. He faced many medical obstacles and when you asked him how he was, his response was," I'm doing good, how about you?" Uncle Jimmy viewed every day as a gift and he held that gift in the palm of his hand, cherishing it. His positive upbeat spirit and love for his family willed him on when the going got tough. His sense of humor and sarcasm kept us all on our toes, because he could take it as good as he gave it! He was proud of his New Ro roots and the life he and Aunt Maryann built for their family. To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance Ecclesiastes 3:1,7,8 Fondly, Julie Martin
